When I started at KETTLER in customer service, every table tennis table looked the same to me at first.
I knew my way around customer service, but not the product itself.
In the past, between the ages of 12-16, I was a real table tennis fan and spent practically every afternoon playing with my crazy table tennis friend. But we always played on concrete tables until my parents FINALLY bought a table tennis table, even from KETTLER. By the way, we still play on it!
But still I started from scratch and asked myself the question:
If I were a customer myself, how would I know which table tennis table is the right one for me?
Therefore, I compiled the following points:
1. should the table tennis table be outdoors or indoors?
The difference lies in the material of the table. An indoor table has a wood chipboard, the outdoor table is equipped with a weatherproof and robust melamine resin board.
Also, in the garage or basement, where the top is used indoors but exposed to moisture and temperature fluctuations, you should consider whether the outdoor version is better.
2. What do I need to consider about the thickness of the plate and the frame?
A professional table tennis player whispered to me that the thickness of the plate is crucial to the playing experience! The thicker the plate, the better the ball "bounces". Therefore, for demanding players, the thickness of the plate is one of the most important purchasing characteristics.
The frame keeps the plate in shape. The thicker the frame, the more firmly the plate is embedded.
3. the folding mechanism
Outdoor tables are often folded and unfolded, the mechanism should be as simple as possible to operate. Often only a single lever needs to be operated, like our SMS system.
4. why is there such a big difference in price?
There are many cheap table tennis tables on the market, but they do not always meet all the requirements. Since a table tennis table will be used for several years, it is worth investing in a high quality table.
5. I am not a professional assembler, can I assemble the table at all?
In fact, I was once allowed to assemble a table tennis table myself as part of a campaign. With the instructions we send a QR code, with which the assembly can be called up as a video. As an assembly beginner, it took me and a second person about 2 hours. I had a lot of fun and we rewarded ourselves with a round of table tennis afterwards! For all those who want to start playing immediately: Our K15 comes pre-assembled, only the net set needs to be attached and you're ready to go.
